Training Day - 2017 UPDATED
18/12/2016 By Russell Brooks
Happy New Year.  Reminder that the priority booking window for the District Training Day closes on Monday 9th - the sessions will then go up on the County website for others to book and places may become unavailable.

There are a few places available for a First Response (Module 10) course being run at 3rd on 18th Feb (930-1630).  Anyone interested should let Jane Murray know asap

Original message follows:-
We will run our District Training Day again in 2017 at Kimpton Primary School.  It will be held on 11th March.

We are now required to run all of our training sessions with “approved” trainers.  The County has therefore agreed to provide us with trainers for all of our session.  This is great in that we will be receiving the most up to date version of each of the modules, but does mean that all of our sessions will be opened up to others in the County if they are not full.  The District has a priority window before they are put on the County website for others to attend however.

I attach for your attention the registration form for everyone to use.  I would be grateful if you could forward this on to your teams as soon as you can.  Our priority window will end on 9th January, so please ask anyone who wants to come to reserve their place by returning the form before the end of our window.  After that date, it will still be possible for leaders in the District to book any available spaces, but they will only be able to do so by going on the County website and booking there.

PS.  If anyone is interested in becoming an “approved” trainer, please let me know.  We may be able to run one or more of the sessions in a way that would allow you to run the session and be validated as a trainer.  We are already doing this for one of the sessions.

PPS.  There are two Module 25 sessions being run in March - one in St Albans and one at Tolmers.  If interested, please book online at the Herts County website: http://www.hertfordshirescouts.org.uk/about-adult-support/training/

HMRC have published new model wording for Gift Aid Declarations to be used from 5th April 2016.  The new declaration has been shortened and simplified removing references to Council Tax and VAT.  Scout groups are able to claim Gift Aid on membership subscriptions and donations for sponsored events and should use the new Gift Aid declaration form for any donations from 5th April 2016 onwards.  Declarations that are already in place do not need to be updated.
